ProMinent GmbH manufactures water treatment plants as well as components and systems for dosing, measuring and controlling liquid substances. ProMinent’s products are used in many different industries, including on oil platforms, hotels, swimming pools and public drinking water supply.
The digital transformation of the purchasing organisation is part of a global transformation programme of ProMinent. In the first step, the project team dealt with the procurement of indirect materials with SAP Ariba Buying and the procurement of direct materials with SAP Ariba Commerce Automation. Both tools were implemented by apsolut in the Snap project which are specially tailored to the needs of medium-sized companies. The Ariba modules were supplemented by numerous additional features, including the apsolut Solution Module Order Confirmation Workflow. This module closes a whitespot in the SAP standard by actively informing purchasers, MRP controllers and requisitioners when suppliers create order confirmations that deviate from purchase orders. Such deviations often remain undiscovered within the standard solution and generate unnecessary manual effort.
The second step was the implementation of SAP Ariba Sourcing, which was fully integrated.
Within the newly created sourcing process, RFQs (Requests for Quotation) are transferred from the ERP system to SAP Ariba. Material master data can be selected in SAP Ariba and imported into RFPs (Requests for Proposals). RFPs can also be used to transfer purchasing info records from SAP Ariba to the ERP. Finally, the PO (Purchase Order) can be generated in SAP Ariba and transferred to the ERP.

The SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle & Performance module is currently being implemented. The go-live will take place in the third quarter of 2022.
