Successful implementation of SAP SLM for GlaxoSmithKline
Some projects are like marathons, some are like sprints. Some projects are bread-and-butter business, some are highly complex. The apsolut team implementing GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Supplier Lifecycle Management proved that they know how to meet all these high requirements at once: being quick, holding the speed whilst maintaining quality, and staying on top of things in a demanding project. In this case, the key success factors were apsolut’s unique expertise, flexibility and an absolute collaborative approach.
apsolut implemented GlaxoSmithKline’s Supplier Lifecycle Management in two project phases. The first phase was a pilot program for the UK section which was carried out by a GSK team under the expert guidance of Eric Owusu-Boakye, Solution Architect at apsolut group in London, and incorporated technical enhancements of the registration process. The second phase incorporated enhancements of the qualification, evaluation, and activity management processes, as well as Custom Web Dynpro Screens for 13 different country units.
“We had to consider complex internal workflows and processes at GSK and to fulfill very challenging requirements regarding timeline and budget. I am very proud of the whole apsolut team”, says Darshan Kamdar, Lead Functional Consultant at apsolut group. Steven Low, Procurement Systems Owner, GSK, is very satisfied with the achievements: “For GSK, this is a considerable investment of time, money and resources to gain significant steps forward in improving our supplier experience as part of our P2P transformation program. apsolut have brought a suite of expertise and capabilities that are rarely found in the marketplace to help successfully deliver the SLM project."
